A large processor of wooden panels, predominantly for the office furniture industry, needed help reducing their machine’s downtime. Their current set-up required the blades to be changed weekly. We came up with a solution which meant their blades had to be changed annually.

You can imagine the impact this had on their bottom line!

Allied were given one of the three beam saws the client had on site to trial their idea, which was to replace the TCT saw blades with PCD blades. Diamond tipped blades are much harder than their carbide counterparts, so Allied were expecting an improvement. But going from needing the blades sharpening weekly to every ten months was incredible.

And times three, for the three beam saws, the increase in productivity and reduced costs of servicing have been dramatic.
