Our client’s existing tooling supplier was struggling to maintain a consistent level of quality with the tolerances of their countersunk holes. This slowed down assembly because the job was finished manually.
Working with C6 Composite, Allied trialled a new system using an ATEMAG Floating Aggregate Head equipped with Diamond Coated Solid Carbide Countersunk drill bits.
This new approach produced a perfect hole and countersink, critically within a 0.04mm tolerance, every time.
The system proved so successful, the approach is being applied to 30 different hole and countersink size.
